Support from Microsoft for Windows XP ends on the 8th of April. What does this mean to you if you still use it ?

If you run your business from it then, to be honest I would upgrade now or soon. Windows 7 is a good upgrade path, whether it be a new PC or an installation of Windows 7 on your existing hardware – if it can run it.

If you are a light user at home then as long as your anti virus is kept up to date and you install an alternative web browser such as Firefox then you should be ok.

But – Windows 8 is the current version and to be honest it’s awful on a desktop, fine on a tablet but not a desktop/laptop. There are still Windows 7 PCs around but they are getting harder to find. Your other option is to buy a new computer but without an operating system installed then install Windows 7 onto it.
